He was talented in calligraphy, painting and tea ceremony.
He was a head priest of Takimotobo, Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine located between Kyoto and Osaka. He built Shokado Hall for his later life and lived elegant life without luxuries until he died.
When Teiichi Yuki went to tea ceremony held in the heritage of Shokado Syojo in 1933, he found square containers in the corner of room.
The height was 3.5cm with section of "田" letter shape, three paintings by brown color, four edges were decorated by metal.
He heard this case was used to contain seeds, drugs, small goods and cigarettes.
Teiichi Yuki had an idea to use this case for dishes, received one of cases, and tried to improve it.
He shortened length of edges, made it higher and deeper, added lid that was originally not used, decorated 4 spaces with different dishes and used to serve sweets in large tea party, then he got favorable notices.
This case gradually popularized after the war and became popular that everyone has ever heard the name.
The case he was trusted is reserved with caution now.
